Mrs. Ladd’s 5th graders have been having a blast playing trash-ball. They are collecting data so that they can use the information they collect to make a variety of graphs, such as bar graphs, pie charts, pictographs, point and line graphs and stem and leaf. They will also be using the information to build player profiles to figure out the best trash-ball player in the country.

Ms. Lacasse's 3rd grade students had participated in a math scavenger hunt. Students were given 10 different lengths to find around the room and they worked with a partner to find objects that matched the measurements. They ranged from 9cm to 203cm! This is an example of experiential learning, where students engage with their environment in real life scenarios in which they can a deeper depth of knowledge. Students are then able to demonstrate the competency of a skill over time in a variety of ways!

Mrs. Lamberts Kindergartners are showing off their mustaches after learning all about the letter Mm! Way to SOAR little eagles!

Another STAR student presentation from Mrs. Ladd's 5th grade class. Meet Mila Burge! Congrats Mila on completing your presentation.

**Important Reminder**
Please remember that the playground at GES is not open to the public after school. Families should pick up their children and leave the premises, this ensures that all students are accounted for afterschool. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this.

Be mindful. Be grateful. Be positive. Be True. Most of all be KIND! Be the "I" in kind!
At Groveton Elementary School we firmly believe teaching the whole child requires us to go well outside of the academics and teach children empathy, compassion, and kindness. Another GREAT week as we get some wind under our wings and continue to SOAR!

Making healthy and positive connections at school is important for all students. Those connections can be with any adult in the building. In this instance our beloved Mr. Wheelock is seen with a "helper" learning the do's and don'ts of the floor scrubber. Our helper has a sense of pride when he helps keep our school safe and healthy for all. Another great example of the importance of relationships. Students may "forget" what you taught them but they will never "forget" how you made them feel.

Do you have SPIRIT? Yes we do! As we prepare to show our school spirit next week September 18th through 22nd we wanted to share with you our themed days for the week. The week culminates in our parade on Friday September 22nd. More information on hat to come.
